HTML Report / Summary

Web-native circulation format. The report that lives online.

Live spec

When to use it

  • Public-facing reports for wider circulation.
  • Stakeholder summaries that link out to deeper docs.
  • Engagement wrap-ups with linked deliverables.
  • Anything circulated by URL, not attachment.

When NOT to use it

  • Internal working analyses · use the Web Brief (11).
  • Printable formal reports · use the Word Document (12).
  • Pitch documents · use the Proposal (14).

When this format is right

When the report needs to live on the web as a URL rather than land as an attachment. Public-facing wrap-up of work.

Canonical reference

Spatial WA Stakeholder Summary HTML · canonical reference.

Tooling

Built as HTML / CSS. Deployed to Netlify. URL becomes the artefact.

Structure

  • Hero cover with title + glass card + photography
  • Executive summary section
  • Findings / themes section
  • Links out to deeper documents (Word, PDF, dashboards)
  • Foot signature with date + version

Brand-uplift checklist for migration

  • Convert existing Spatial-WA-style HTML to current LA aesthetic
  • Replace placeholders with locked palette + typography
  • Ensure deploy URL is locked and shared
The DNA

Same visual DNA as the Operating Hub: glass cards over photography, navy + gold + cream, Cormorant + Tenor typography. Differs from Web Brief (11) by being public-facing and lighter on detail.

Voice rules

  1. Front-load the headline. First screen tells the reader what this report says.
  2. Link out for depth. Don't try to be everything on one page.
  3. Visual sets the tone. Image choice matters.
  4. Foot stamps the moment. Date + version.

Production checklist

  1. Headline finding clear on first screen
  2. All linked documents resolve
  3. Image license clean
  4. Mobile responsive tested
  5. Netlify URL set, shared
